Office of Biotechnology Activities    National Institutes of Health - Office of Science Policy   Biosafety Considerations for Research with Lentiviral Vectors   At the March 15, 2006 RAC meeting, the RAC discussed the conduct of risk assessments and determination of containment for lentiviral vector research. The NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant DNA Molecules do not directly address the use of lentiviral vectors.
